Meet Our New Executive Chef

We are excited to announce our new Executive Chef, Sam Henzy. Sam joins a legacy of talented chefs who have honored local foodways and contributed to Fork’s ever-evolving pursuit of excellence and incredible hospitality. His nearly two decades of experience includes time at Noma, Quince in San Francisco, Angler, and Vernick Food & Drink.  Sam’s appointment coincides with the gorgeous new renovation of our dining room by @margueriterodgersinteriors, bringing in a refreshed iteration of Fork, which we hope to retain as one of Philadelphia’s most treasured restaurants as it continues to evolve.

When Chef Sam is not in the kitchen, he can be found at the gym, on the disc golf course, playing guitar, or producing music in his ad hoc home studio. A proud resident of Port Richmond, he enjoys exploring the vibrant Polish community in his neighborhood and spending Sundays cheering on the Eagles like the proud Philadelphian he is.

We look forward to the continued evolution of our menu under his leadership!

WHY WE LOVE OLD CITY

Old City is home to the Liberty Bell, the Constitution Center, Cherry Street Pier & more. With plenty of historic sites in addition to the most boutiques in the city, we couldn’t be prouder to be apart of our community along with some of the best restaurants in Philadelphia according to Visit Philly.

Visit Philly boasts, “Fork, Ellen Yin’s elegantly casual contemporary American bistro helped pave the way for Old City’s revival in the mid-1990s.Ever since, Fork’s consistent output of finely crafted and inventive cuisine has made it a neighborhood classic. With Chef Eli Kulp in the kitchen, Fork has continued to reinvent itself time and time again.Fork has a variety of menu options including a fixed price menu that offers diners the opportunity to choose from among Chef Kulp’s wealth of creative dishes and customize their own multi-course supper.Fork’s menu changes frequently throughout the year to showcase the region’s finest produce, seafood and meat.”

Take a stroll down North 3rd Street for some trendy outfits, stop for coffee at the various coffee shops or pop into the multiple art galleries. Don’t miss out on First Friday either for special promotions & events going on all around the neighborhood. Cherry Street Pier is a newcomer to the neighborhood and is already making a big splash with weekend farmer’s markets and various food truck collaborations to satisfy your craving when you’re exploring the waterway!

We also can’t forget Penn’s Landing & Spruce Street Harbor Park for some incredible summer events and installations. Penn’s Landing is also a destination in the Winter when it transforms into a Winer Wonderland! With plenty to do, a few days at the very least can be spent exploring this area of Philadelphia.

The best in Philadelphia is in Old City & there really is no place like home. Next time you’re in the neighborhood, drop in for dinner daily, happy hour on the weeknights and weekend brunch to some of the best restaurants in Philadelphia including Fork!
